Reasons To Smile

I put little sister to bed for her nap and jumped on the laptop to try to catch up with all this blogging stuff. I'm sitting at the kitchen table drinking my coffee and feverishly going through one of the many blog hops I'm trying to keep up to. To my left I hear a 'plop' sound on the living room floor and I look over to find big sister emptying out my laundry basket.

"What are you doing?" I ask impatiently (thinking she's deliberately making a mess of things)

"I'm going to fold your laundry for you, so you won't have so much work to do." my beauty replies.

It's moments like these that I feel so proud and blessed to have such an awesome little girl :)

Expectations

So I was posting a comment on Menopausal New Mom's Aloha Friday blog post this morning regarding what makes a good blog. And it made me think, what are my expectations for my blog? What message will I want to be sending out to it's readers?

Here's a list of things that I hope for the future, sort of a "To Do" List:

1. A visually appealing blog; I need a good template!
2. Some super cool content, who doesn't like a reader friendly blog. I mean, that's what a blog was originally intended to be for: reading.
3. Useful gadgets. Once I can get my head around what I need! Which brings me to the next one:
4. A healthy size audience to read my posts and look at the super cool gadgets I will have ;)
5. And hopefully one day if I am lucky, I can start writing some sponsored posts in between all of this and maybe one day....drumroll...I will be lucky enough to host a few giveaways!

High hopes I know, for those that have visited my blog you know that I am brand spankin' new to this whole process. But the way I see it, how am I ever going to get anywhere if I just keep talking about it! 

So here's to the future!

Blogging Intimidation

I never thought in a million years just how time consuming and difficult starting up a blog would be. The process of signing up for Blogger was SO easy that I mistakenly thought, well...how hard could constructing the blog itself really be? Wrong!! And especially because I have such high hopes to one day be writing reviews and having giveaways on my site, it is all very overwhelming.

I recently tried to add a Navigation Bar to my blog and nearly gave myself an aneurysm just trying to figure it all out. I am a follower to quite a few review and mommy blogs and I love all the clever buttons, the useful gadgets and grown-up posts.

All I can say is, this will be a learning process. And one I might add, that I am not willing to give up on. See, I'm a SAHM of 2 beautiful girls and living in a small town there are not very many opportunities for me here and quite frankly daycare is way too expensive! I am really excited to finally do something for myself, to give me a sense of self-worth and fulfillment (other than raising my beauties).

So what's next? Research and trial and error will be prominent for this blogs future...as well as networking and getting myself OUT THERE! And of course, Blog.
